Ecomusée de la Bresse Bourguignonne

Installed since 1981 in the town of Pierre-de-Bresse, on the prestigious grounds of the former Thiard Counts' Castle built in the 17th century and later purchased by the Saône-&-Loire departmental council, this regional eco-museum serves as a repository of the Bresse country's living memory. The public will enjoy a series of permanent exhibitions illustrating the natural habitat, history, traditional trades, furniture, living conditions and architecture typical of the Burgundy Bresse region. Eight satellite museums and a visit of past testimonial sites complete this territorial cultural display.
